Our Spacecraft
Nicknamed "The Silo" because of its superficial resemblance to a farmyard grain silo. Cymru 3 was built to exacting specifications by artisan welders using zinc coated steel plate in just six days. They did make 11 others at the same time which, coincidentally, were used as grain silos.
A launch weight of 5.4 tonnes makes it the equivalent of blasting 51.7 Paul Gascoignes or around 93 Kylie Minogues into space.
The business end of Cymru 3- the main engine nose-cone. Again, resemblance to the hopper end of a grain silo is entirely expected.
Primary thrust is provided by a Babbage differential engine, with supplemental attitude control via a pair of bilateral search engines.
However, escape velocity is achieved by means of 16,000 12 gauge shotgun cartridges all fired together by tugging on a piece of string.
